Obituary of Albert DeStefano

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father, Albert DeStefano, 91 of Landisville, New Jersey. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland following a brief illness on January 9, 2024. Albert was born to the late Frank and Maria DeStefano in 1932. He was the youngest of seven children. He began his education at Donini School in Landisville and graduated from Vineland High School in 1950. The strong work ethic instilled in him by his parents made Albert a successful businessman. At 19, he realized his dream of forming his own trucking company, A-D Trucking. He operated the business until his retirement, when his son, Frank, took over. Albert remained active in the business until his passing. His insight and advice were invaluable to the success story of the business until present day. Albert met the love of his life, Barbara, in Atco, New Jersey, and the two married on September 10, 1960. He and Barbara raised their three children, Rosemarie, Maryann, and Frank in Landisville. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Albert embraced the role of patriarch with zest and loved his family more than anything in this world. We all loved him back just as fiercely. Albert's stories and life anecdotes made his presence unforgettable. Albert was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, where he and Barbara served as ministers of hospitality until her death in 2010. He proudly fought for his country during the Korean conflict and was a part of Operation Big Switch and Little Switch. For his wartime service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United States Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the ROK Korean War Service Medal. Albert enjoyed life to the fullest until his passing. He loved spending time with his family, he loved people, and he enjoyed weekly breakfast with his friends, especially Frank Lolli. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; siblings, Rose, John, Frank, Mike, and Angie; and his stepson Edward Morris Jr. He is survived by his son, Frank; daughters, Rosemarie and Maryann; stepson, John Morris; sister, Dorothy Borzacchiello; grandchildren, Barbie, Erica, Frankie, Dina, Jae, Alli, Nichole, Steven, and Sabrina; and great-grandchildren, Luca, Ariana, Jackson, and Eddie, as well as many nieces and nephews. We will carry the pain of his loss and absence forever. A church visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:45am to 11:45am followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 pm from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Victories Cemetery, Landisville.
