Obituary of Richard M Scarpa

Richard Michael Scarpa, 69, of Vineland passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024 at his home in Delray Beach, Florida. Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1954 and had moved to Florida in 2016. He graduated from Vineland High School with the Class of 1972. He attended both Rutgers and Villanova Universities. He enjoyed his job teaching at St Mary's School and Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, where he was also the tennis coach. Rich was most recently employed at Trenton State Penitentiary with the Intake Department of Corrections. Rich loved to go fishing, travelling and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his sister & brother-in-law, Donna Scarpa Martine (Richard Sr.); brother & sister-in-law, Anthony J Scarpa Jr (Angela); nephew & his wife, Richard Martine Jr (Jennifer); niece and her husband, Sarah Martine Belfi (Jim); great-nephew and nieces, Dominick Martine, Ava Martine, Lyla Belfi & Francesca Belfi; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Anthony J and Antoinette (Musacchia) Scarpa and his brother, Frank J Scarpa. A church visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral mass at 12:15 pm from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
