Joseph Jobbagy, 96, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at home. Born in Hungary. he arrived in Ellis Island in 1925. Joseph, his mother Maria and four brothers joined his father Joseph in Wallingford, Conn where they lived as a family for four years. Joe moved to Passaic, NJ where he met Margaret, his wife of 67 years. Joe and Margaret and her daughter Margaret moved to Dorothy, NJ in 1950. They owned and operated a poultry farm in Dorothy for 17 years. during that time he was a heavy equipment operator with the Atlantic County Road Department, He retired in 1976. Joe was the former Mayor of Weymouth Township. He was a Republican on the Weymouth Township Committe. Joe served 15 years on the Township Board of Education, 10 years as Finance Committee Chairman, 2 years as President. He was a member of the local Forest Fire Service. Joe was a parishoner of St. Bernard Parish for over 50 years.

He enjoyed gardening, especially flowers and playing cards.
