Obituary of Antoinette "Ann" Ragone

Antoinette Catherine Ragone, 96, known as Ann or Nana, passed away on October 16, 2023. Born in 1927, to the late Louis and Virginia Mary Austino, she was a lifelong resident of Newfield, New Jersey. She and her husband, Frank, were popular and much beloved Managing/Directors of the Buena Vista Country Club Banquet facilities for 23 years, where the community celebrated many occasions from christenings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, weddings to office parties, receptions and famous golf outings. With distinctive style and panache they created many memorable celebrations. They also made their home a welcoming hub of celebrations for friends and family as well. After retiring, Ann kept up her social calendar with friends, nieces and cousins. She was an avid reader, a puzzle solver, a journal keeper, and she loved her garden. She will be remembered for imparting to all her "joie de vivre" - to enjoy life to the fullest - but also, she inspired everyone with her sense of fairness and justice, compassion, generosity and love. Ann is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Keith Martin & Terry (Fox) Ragone and Anthony Louis & Denise (Bagutti) Ragone; daughter Lisa Maria Calvo; her grandchildren, Sophie Hannah Ragone Gibson (Brad), Ana Amalia Calvo and Gabriel Martin Calvo, and great-granddaughter Rosie Ann Gibson. Also surviving is her sister Phyllis Ann Rambone (Silvio Belfi), and nieces Karla Sangataldo, Gail Curcio (Richard) and grandniece Jill Sangataldo and grandnephew Dominic Curcio. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Frank Martin Ragone and her brother-in-law Louis Rambone.
