Obituary of AnnaMay Kubrak

AnnaMay Kubrak September 16, 1926 - October 11, 2023 AnnaMay Kubrak, a lifelong resident of Vineland, NJ, passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 97. Growing up, AnnaMay played and worked on her family's vegetable farm. After graduating from high school, she worked as an etcher for Kimble Glass. Ultimately, she made the decision to dedicate her time sewing clothes for those in need at the Vineland Developmental Center. AnnaMay was a self-taught, naturally gifted seamstress. Always wanting to improve her skills, she would host sewing circles in her own living room, collaborating with local women from the community. On April 4, 1957, AnnaMay married the love of her life, Charles Kubrak. Together, they built a beautiful home and created a lifetime of cherished memories. AnnaMay and Charles both shared a deep love for bowling, polka dancing, and playing cards. Despite contending with a lifelong injury, AnnaMay remained resilient and full of energy. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: watching Phillies games with her son, Rob, as well as indulging in old Western movies. AnnaMay also enjoyed preparing delicious traditional Italian dishes; tortellini, gnocchi, and bagna cauda, just to name a few. She adored visits from her loved ones. Her sense of humor brought joy to those around her. AnnaMay will always be known for her competitive spirit and passion for card games. Anyone who dared to speak during a game would be met with her sharp, yet playful, gaze, often accompanied by a spicy one-liner. AnnaMay will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew her. AnnaMay is survived by her children: Janice Knight, Sharon Freeman, and Rob Kubrak; as well as her sisters: Marie Peek and Norma Bruner. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jerry (Valerie) Godown, Lori (Bill) Quinn, Sean Freeman, Anthony (Harry) Freeman, Ashley (John) D'Amico, Danielle (Cordy) Kubrak-Wagner, and Emily Kubrak; and her great-grandchildren: Quintin, Bethany, & Brianna Quinn, Sean Freeman, and Lexi Kubrak. AnnaMay is predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Kubrak, and sister, Teresa Cappellucci. AnnaMay will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery, alongside her husband, on October 19, 2023. A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
