Obituary of Margaret Alice Magnuson

Margaret Alice (Paves) Magnuson passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023 at the Washington Twp. Senior Living Center in Sewell. She was born in Pleasantville, NJ in 1924 Alice graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1942 and soon after entered the Atlantic City School of Nursing. During this time, World War II began so she was called into the Army at Ft. Dix to serve as a Cadet Nurse. She said that this was the best time of her life as the wounded soldiers were so appreciative of everything the nurses did for them. She did graduate from Atlantic City School of Nursing. She worked as an RN in the hospitals of Vineland and Woodbury. Later, Alice attended Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) and received her BS in school nursing and health education. She was hired as a school nurse in Franklin Twp. where she worked for 23 years. She also worked several years at Columbia Records as an industrial nurse in Pitman. Alice was always available to help out her neighbors, family and friends, both medically and financially. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Maude and George Atack; husband, Charles Magnuson; daughter, Melissa Jean Magnuson; sister, Jeanette Atack; and her brothers, George Atack, Eugene Atack, Richard Atack, David Atack & Lee Paves. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Edward Rone; son & wife, Charles "Chuck" Magnuson & Judi Gimble; grandchildren, Edward Rone (Jeanette), Chuck Magnuson (Nadia), Heather Hill (Todd), Patrick Magnuson & Colleen Magnuson; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. A funeral home visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral service at 12pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton.
