Obituary of Ernest H. Hutchinson

Passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
Ernie was born February 16, 1943 and was raised in the Willow Grove section of Pittsgrove Township. He married his wife of 48 years, Rosalie Piccioni, in 1963. They lived and raised their family in Vineland.
Ernie believed in and lived by a strong set of principles and work ethic, which were the driving force behind his life and his career. He started out in business as a teenager working in and ultimately managing Vineland Cold Cuts in the 1960s and early 1970s. He later co-founded Gia's Catering which he operated with his partner from the late 1960s until the business was sold in the early 1980s. During that time, Ernie catered hundreds of weddings and events throughout South Jersey. He then founded Bridgeton Restaurant Equipment in the 1980s, which he developed into a specialty logistics, wholesale equipment and project management company. He remained active in the operation and growth of the company until his death.
In his younger years, Ernie enjoyed many sports and activities, including water and snow skiing. He also enjoyed playing pinochle and golf and spending time with family and friends.
Most of all, Ernie greatly loved and always cared for his family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Rosalie (Piccioni), his son and daughter in law Ernie and Christine Hutchinson of Washington Township, daughter and companion Deanna Hutchinson and Peter Huff of Washington Township, grandsons Matthew Hutchinson and Nicholas Hutchinson of Washington Township, and his loyal dog Missy.
He is also survived by his mother Alyce Hutchinson of Pittsgrove Township,
sisters and brothers in law Nancy and John Cramer of Pittsgrove Township and Alyce and Russell Zerra of Vineland, brother Harry of Pittsgrove Township, mother in law May Piccioni of Vineland, brothers in law and sisters in law Barbara Daley, Richard and Elaine Piccioni, and Lauren and Salvatore Perna of Vineland, Lynn and Raymond Newton of Leland, NC, and Roland and Rita Piccioni of Glassboro. He was predeceased by his father Ernest and brother Louis of Pittsgrove and his father in law Roland Piccioni and brother in law Edward Daley of Vineland. Ernie is also survived by numerous other family and friends.
