Obituary of Joan Franks

Joan "Joansy" (Willis) Franks of Minotola passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023 at home with her loving husband and family by her side. Joan was the daughter of the late Logan Gene and Anna Margaret (Craig) Willis of Greenwich, NJ. Joan loved to shop forever, definitely had a shoe fetish, jewelry was her fav, and you knew it as she was always dressed for the occasion with her hair sprayed up just right. She enjoyed spending time at her home in Pine Island, FL collecting shells and sunbathing on the beach. In her early years she worked a Shop Rite and Cleary Middle School in the cafeteria. Joan served as president of Little league and PTA, and was active in the Buena Boro Republican Club. Throughout her lifetime, she traveled the world with Lou making memories that would last forever. In her later years she enjoyed dining out and playing slots in AC. She especially was entertained by watching her young great-grandchildren growing up. She is survived by husband of 63 years, Louis Franks Jr; her children, Vicki Weirich, Kimberly Battelini (Anthony) and Craig Franks (Donna); grandchildren, Marc Franks, Matthew Franks (Kelly), Anthony Battelini (Katy), Kaitlin Nocon (Eric) Wade Battelini (Jaclyn) and Stacey Brown; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanne Pozzobon (Ed); brother-in-law, Fred Franks (Evelyn); and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her brother, David Willis and her sisters, Patricia Kenelia and Bonnie Wilczynski. A church visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 9:15am to 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at 11am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola.
