Obituary of Charlotte Iannozzi

Iannozzi, Charlotte Faye - 87, passed away on Friday, March 24th, 2023. Born on October 1st, 1935 in York, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Miriam Boyer and La Verne Zellers. She grew up in the small town of Bair Station, Pennsylvania, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse In 1954, she met and married Chris Amphrazis. They moved to New Jersey and raised three children in Absecon. She was the neighborhood mom, and everyone was welcome in her home. From kickball, jump rope and roller skating, she never lost hold of her inner child. She was a beloved lunchroom lady at ECA Elementary. She was also a hostess at Schrul's Restaurant, and later in the Carnegie Deli at the Sands Casino in Atlantic City, where she worked for over twenty years. She loved her customers, and proudly took home many employee-of-the-month awards. In 2001, she married Bill Iannozzi and moved to Atlantic City. They enjoyed traveling the world, from the Poconos to Niagara Falls, from Florida to Scotland, but their favorite place was at home with their grandkids. She loved coffee, coconut desserts, thrift shopping, and books and movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Her favorite movie was Gone with the Wind. She is survived by her aunt Doris Hollinger (Robert); brother Robert Hildebrand (Yvonne); sister Donna Roelke; three children Dino Amphrazis (Kathleen), Zoe Amphrazis, and Vickie Turrano (Vince); stepdaughters Geraldine Powell (Warren) and Michelle Ragusa (Charlie); grandchildren Daniel Jackson (Ryann), Alexandria Barone (Anthony), Sophia and Saverio Turrano; great grandchildren Cooper and Decker Jackson; her wonderful in-laws; many cousins, nieces and nephews; her two childhood best friends Becky and Adella; and her beloved cat Missy. She was predeceased by her sister Phyllis "Pat" Smith; her twin sister Shirley Shearer; and her husband William Iannozzi. Charlotte will be remembered for her larger-than-life personality, her unique sense of humor, and as a mom to all. Services will be private, at Charlotte's request.
