Obituary of Robert Hughes

Robert Thomas Hughes 79, of Vineland passed away Wednesday February 18, 2009 in the Lincoln Specialty Care Center in Vineland after a long illness. Born in Pottsville PA to the late Thomas and Viola (Hess) Hughes before moving to Vineland in 1955. He was employed for Wheaton Glass Industries for 35 years beginning as a packer and advancing to Lehr Forman before his retirement. Robert was a member of the United Glass Blowers Union while he was employed for Wheaton Glass. He enjoyed riding and taking care of Horses, and working on cars. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Gladys (Bair) of Vineland, a daughter and her husband, JoAnn and George Boehm of Vineland, son and his wife Craig and Beatrice Hughes of Vineland, daughter and her husband Bonnie and Clinton "Jocko" Jackson of Rosenhayn, a daughter Diane Carter of Millville, daughter Linda Angrisame of Bridgeton, a son and his wife James and Patricia Hughes of Rosenhayn, and a daughter Susan Pierce of Vineland. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Thomas Hughes in 2005. A funeral home visitation will be held on Monday from 1 pm to 2 pm at Rone Funeral Service, A Funeral Service will begin Monday at 2:00 pm Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rosenhayn.
