Maria "Mary" (Cappello) Buono, 96, of Vineland, NJ, passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023. She was born on July 12, 1926 in South Philadelphia to the late Giacomo and Ninfa Cappello. She was a resident of Rosenhayn, NJ for over 60 years where she lived with her late husband Natale Buono, Sr.

"MumMum", as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, will forever be remembered for her kindness and love and devotion to her family and friends as well as her incredible kitchen skills, especially her homemade chocolate pudding, pancake breakfasts, and pizzelles. We were all so lucky to have her in our lives and will forever cherish the beautiful memories we made with her.

Mary was the beloved mother of two sons, Natale Buono, Jr and Elizabeth of East Hanover, NJ and Salvatore "Sam" Buono of Vineland; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Abel (Richard), Danielle Gordon (Richard), April Sherman (Jonathan), and Christina Press (Jonathan); great grandchildren, Aiden, Hudson, Kamdenn, Skylar, Jackson, Charlie, Sadie, Jordyn, and Kennedy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita Dannenhoffer, Frank & Dolly Buono and Dominick & Phyllis Buono; she was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Natale Buono, Sr; brothers Salvatore and Joseph Cappello, and her sister Sebastiana "Bess" Calabrese.

A funeral home visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 9:15am to 11:15am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm from Parish Of The Holy Cross- St. Mary's Church - Rosenhayn, 732 Morton Avenue, Rosenhayn. Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Rosenhayn.
