Obituary of Bruce James Tasso

Bruce J. Tasso, 75, of Vineland passed away at home on December 21, 2022. He graduated from Vineland High School in 1967. Bruce honorably served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He served in the Construction Battalion, also known as "The Seabees (Can Do!)". Bruce was a proud veteran, and many in his battalion knew him as "Partying Bruce". Having had many jobs beforehand, he went on to work for the Vineland Board of Education for over 30 years. He served in several capacities including driving the Vineland High Marching Band equipment bus. A kid at heart, he enjoyed being around the students. After retiring, he started working for A. Corky Linardo Fire & Safety. Bruce played football in high school. He was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49'ers, Notre Dame, and loved to watch West Virginia football. He had many passions such as traveling, to Europe especially, drinking Johnny Walker and visiting the Hard Rock Cafés, wearing their t-shirts and collecting their signature bears because to some he was affectionately known as "Brucy Bear". Bruce was a dog enthusiast, Beagles and Labradors being his favorites. He always had one as his companion and frequently posted pictures or videos on his social media profile. He was also a member of a South Jersey Cruisers Association and enjoyed cruising around in his 1974 canary yellow Corvette. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cecilia (Confalone) Tasso; his nieces and nephews Gina Confalone, Anthony Confalone, Jennifer Donnelly (Justin), Nancy McCormick (John), Samuel Confalone (Cristin) and Olga Encarnacion (Francis) whom he saw as his daughter. He also had two great nieces Elizabeth and Margaret Donnelly; great nephew Ryan Donnelly; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Anthony and Lorraine Confalone. Bruce had a group of loving cousins and friends who referred to him as "The Mayor". He was predeceased by his son, Eugene Anthony Tasso and his parents Eugene and Marie (Solazzo) Tasso. Services will be private.
