Obituary of Betty Reeder

Betty (Beres) Reeder, 80, of Vineland, passed away on Wednesday November 23, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Vineland, NJ on December 27, 1941, she was a graduate of Vineland High School 1960 and Pfeiffer University. She went back to school in her 40's to complete a masters degree in accounting. Betty worked for the Vineland Board of Education her entire career and retired in 1999 as payroll supervisor. She loved all animals, but especially her dogs. During her retirement she volunteered many hours at the SJRAS and fostered hundreds of dogs and puppies. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, and trips to the beach, but her favorite time was always spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Steven Reeder and daughter-in-law Mary, and his children, Madeline, Max and Marlena of Elmer, NJ; her daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Brian Asselta and their children, Joy, Vincent and Noelle of Vineland; daughter–in-law Tina and her daughter Avery of Florida; brother, John "Jack" Beres and her great uncle William "Bill" Bowman both of Vineland. She was predeceased by her husband James Wesley Reeder "Wes" in 2013, as well as her oldest son James in 2009. She will be incredibly missed by all who knew her for her generosity, strength and ability to persevere through any task. There was truly nothing she couldn't do. In the last several years she often said that she lived a full and rich life and had no regrets. A visitation and memorial service will be held on December 27, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360 Donations in memory of Betty may be made to: South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 N.
