Obituary of Norma Geri

Norma Kathleen Geri, 86, of Vineland NJ and New Smyrna Beach, FL, died peacefully on Sunday, October 2 in Deland, FL. Norma was born August 26, 1936, in Johnstown, PA. She took pride in being skilled at many handicrafts, including ceramics and Swedish weaving. She was an expert at crocheting. Pre-pandemic, she enjoyed spending time with other crafters at the Upper Deerfield Senior Center in Seabrook, NJ. She loved reminiscing about her beloved childhood in Johnstown and had a large collection of Johnstown history books and memorabilia. She also loved to cook and bake. Norma was employed by Durand Glass Manufacturing in Millville for over 25 years before retiring in the early 2000's. Norma is survived by a daughter, Loretta (Brad) Crisp of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a son, Anthony (Martha) of Alloway, NJ; a grandson Michael Mahoney, Jr. of Port Orange, FL; a sister, Betty Tefft of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, William Harbart of York Haven, PA; a sister-in-law Myra Geri of Vineland; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Robert McKinney of Wilmington, DE, and Dayna McKinney of Millville, NJ, who were like family to her. She was predeceased by her husband Richard James Geri in 2009. They were married November 17, 1962, at the Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Vineland. She was also predeceased by her parents, Gustave and Isabelle (Fingerhoot) Harbart of Johnstown, PA; brothers-in-law, David Geri of Vineland, and William Tefft of Johnstown; a sister-in-law Irene Harbart of York Haven; and two infant children. The family extends a special thanks to Team 217 at VITAS Healthcare, Norma's in-home hospice caretakers. They are also grateful to the staff at Parkside Health in Deland, where she had been an inpatient for 6 days due to evacuation for hurricane Ian. Interment will be private at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery, Vineland.
