Obituary of Elaine Ashin

Elaine Ashin, 87, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 14, 1935. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Zelick Ashin, and their children Joy Ozer (Alan) of Philadelphia and Moshe [Mark] Ashin (Yehudis) of Jerusalem, Israel. She is also survived by her beloved seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Elaine was a lifelong resident of Vineland, NJ. She was a lover of musical theater and all things Sondheim. She was tech-savvy, loved spending time on her iPhone, and would have Skype calls with relatives around the world from Brazil to Jerusalem. She enjoyed an occasional game of Mah Jongg, reading novels on her Kindle, watching any TV show or movie with dark humor, and munching on her husband's famous homemade pickles. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made in Elaine's honor to the Philabundance Food Bank at Philabundance.org A graveside service and burial will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 1pm at Alliance Cemetery, 970 Gershal Avenue, Norma, NJ 08360.
