Obituary of Francine V. Hovermann

Francine Vingi Hovermann died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Fran, 67, was born to Matthew and Frances (Tuso) Vingi. She was born and raised in Vineland, where she lived her whole life. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar and High School and received a Certificate of Certified Public Manager from Fairleigh Dickinson in 2009. Fran began employment at the Office of the Cumberland County Prosecutor as a Clerk Typist right after high school, and was promoted to Office Administrator/Clerical Supervisor in 1980, working under the competent leadership of Joseph Tuso, William Doherty, Kenneth A. Pagliughi, Hon. Steven S. Neder, Hon. Michael Brooke Fisher, Hon. Arthur J. Marchand, Ronald J. Casella, and various interim Deputy Attorney Generals. During her tenure at Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, Fran won the respect and admiration of law enforcement officials not only from Cumberland County, but from Cape May and Atlantic County Prosecutors Offices. She was beloved not only by attorneys, but by police officers, journalists and politicians. Fran served Cumberland County for 43 years before retiring in 2015. She would tell you that along with raising her son, working at the Prosecutor's Office were her happiest years. Fran was known for her wit and quick sense of humor, and her love and devotion to her family and work. She enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and buying and selling on eBay, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her son at NASCAR races and Phillies games. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Frances (Tuso) and Matthew Vingi, and her beautiful sister Marie F. Vingi. She is also predeceased by many fur-baby cats, especially Bella, who was the love of her life. Left to remember her are her only son, whom she loved more than anything in the world, Fred Hovermann, Jr. (she always said that he was her life), and his loving girlfriend Maria Aponte. Also left to remember her are her beautiful, devoted, and loved more than she will ever know "angel" sister Lynda Vingi; and her dear "sister-friend" Rosemarie "Roe" Lavala. She is also survived by step-brother Nathan Vingi and sister-in-law America; half-brother Antonio "AJ" Vingi and sister-in-law Catherine; niece Magalia "Maggie" Ortiz, and nephew Nathan "Junior" Vingi. She dearly loved all of her cousins left behind. She will also be remembered by her dear friends who were with her through her entire journey: Eileen, Denise, Donna, Kim, Kathy and Steve, Renee and Jim, and Billy, Bruce, and Pete. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fight Colorectal Cancer (fightcolorectalcancer.org). A funeral home visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm followed by a funeral service beginning at 4pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Final disposition will be at the convenience of the family. ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360.
