Obituary of Adeline M. Hecker

Adeline M. Hecker, 89, of Vineland, passed away at her home on October 14, 2007. She was a lifelong resident of Vineland. She attended public schools in Vineland. Adeline was married to the late Frank E. Hecker, a well-known businessman in the area. Prior to her marriage she was employed by the Tursini , Newell and the Dan Barse Clothing Companies. After her marriage she was employed by the Colony Institution located on Almond Road as a Charge Attendant, for several years. Adeline was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. She was an avid traveler and along with her husband visited South America, the Carribean, Hawaii, Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico and Panama, in addition to wide travel in the United States. She spoke several languages. Adeline was well known for her volunteer work in local nursing homes and hospitals and with her husband as generous benefactors in the area. Among those who benefited by their charitable contributions include, Sacred Heart Church and local health care facilities. Adeline was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Rosary Society of the Sacred Heart. During a trip to Rome she was granted an audience with the Pope.
