I recall Emma when she and Joe "Jake" Dilazzero were dating. She was a beautiful girl who became a beautiful lady and stayed beautiful in body and spirit to everyone who knew her. Her brother Vincent and I were next store neighbors, and we frequently visited Joe and Emma at their farm. Their son, Dennis, was some years my junior, but I got to know him well also. It was my privilege to know all Edith and Henry Berni's children. Emma will be missed by all who knew her, and we are all poorer for her passing.

I was saddened to learn that Emma had died. I grew up next to Emma's Mother and Father's home and would see her often when she visited. Her son Dennis and I got to know one another from Emma's visits. I haven't seen Emma for decades but I'm certain she remained a very sweet and caring person.

Mrs. DiLazzero was possessed of a beautiful spirit. She remained kind and gentle, warm and giving throughout the years I was blessed to know her. She was a legendary baker, happy to share her homemade goodies, which were always delicious. Most of all, I remember her particularly close bond with her son, Dennis, who moved heaven and earth as an advocate for his mother in her later years. Theirs was a special and loving relationship. Dennis, I’m so sorry for your loss. I apologize for my lateness in acknowledging your mother’s passing. I wasn’t aware she had departed until today. The world is less that she is gone from it. May your mother Rest In Peace, and may you find comfort in knowing you were the best son for which any mother could have hoped.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Michele Armstrong
