Obituary of Grace Patricia Sammartino

Grace (Wysocki) Sammartino, 99, of Vineland passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022 in the house her husband built for her after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer's. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 24, 1922 to the late Florian and Agnes Wysocki. She met her future husband Anthony and they married on May 18, 1946, She, Anthony and their daughter Darlene moved to Vineland in 1949. They lived with relatives for a short time and also at the Veteran's Project on Normandy Lane. She was employed in various glass companies for years and also for Cleveland Partition before working for the Vineland Board of Education in the Maintenance Department at the VHS 9-10 building. Grace was a former member of the Ladies of St. Francis Auxiliary; St. Francis Church; and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved playing canasta with her friends, dancing, music and watching TV. One of her fondest moments was having a two day double wedding with her twin sister Florence. She is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Darlene and Joe Profetto and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony M. Sammartino; her parents, Florian and Agnes Wysocki; brothers, Florian "Larry", Arthur & Alfred Wysocki; and her sisters, Ellen Nowak, Delores Kryzenski, Virginia Wysocki; and her twin sister, Florence Tillman. A special thank you to her Caregivers, Elvaia and Denita and her NJ Hospice Nurses, Holly, Kristin and Summer. A funeral home visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral service at 12pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Everyone is asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
