Obituary of Herbert J. Bertonazzi Jr.
The journey of Herb's later life was a struggle, requiring much strength of him to stay on course. With immense affection and devotion, his daughter always brought him the warmth of a great love that glowed and brightened the way for him to stay on the road of a happy life.
Herbert Joseph Bertonazzi Jr., 68, of Buena, NJ was born on May 28, 1953 and passed away on February 22, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center after an extended illness.
As a graduate of Our Lady of Victories Elementary School in Landisville, he received their Religion award. He attended St Augustine Preparatory School and graduated from Vineland Sr. High School in 1971. He attended Devry Technical Institute in Paterson, NJ, Atlantic Community College and Richard Stockton State College.
During his very youthful days, he learned exceptionally good work ethics by working on his father's farm. But, his enterprising skills were developed when he established his bicycle-delivered, paper route for the Vineland Times Journal in the Buena Borough area. In his early career years, he worked with Hobart Electric Inc., and Business & Industrial Electric, a partnership with his life-long childhood friend, David Iaccovelli. For several decades into his retirement, he worked as an electrical technician for Atlantic County in Mays Landing, NJ.
He is survived by his daughter, Lia Ann Bertonazzi; her mother and his former wife and friend, Kathy Maslanish; his sister, Donna Grasso; brother & sister-in-law, Richard & Diana (Bianco) Bertonazzi; brother-in-law, Bruce Caporale; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Josephine (Verano) Bertonazzi; sister, Sandra Caporale, and his brothers, Ronald and Gregory.
Herb had a great understanding and love for dogs. Many have known him for his fervent, impassioned beliefs; probably influenced by the nostalgia and noteworthy leaders of Vikings and American Civil War history.
As a loving father, there is no one who had a greater love for their child, than herb's love for his daughter Lia.
When greeting people, he had a quiet happy chuckle, - it will be greatly missed by all.
A private interment will occur at a later date.
