Obituary of John "Truck" Anthony Trucano

John Anthony Trucano, 100, of Vineland, passed away on February 15, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland surrounded by his children. "Truck" as he was better known was a lifelong resident of Vineland, born and raised. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Alma, and a wonderful father to his three children, John, Gary and Gail. He served his country during WWII as an Army MP in Casablanca, Morocco in North Africa. Truck was an avid sports fan always rooting for the Phillies, Eagles, Notre Dame Football and Villanova and Duke Basketball. He was an outstanding athlete and was the last living member of the 1939 Vineland High School football team, thought by many to be the best football team in the history of VHS and was inducted along with his teammates into the VHS Sports Hall of Fame. Truck was also a tremendous hardball and softball player in the city of Vineland and played basketball for the Vineland City League. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his three children; John (Leslie) of Vineland, Gary of Ocean City and Gail of Sewell; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Alma (Hennessey) Trucano; his mother Loretta Maguire (Peter T.); his father John Trucano and his sister Leona Crudele. A funeral home visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 9am to 11am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Everyone is asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
