Obituary of Joseph Lodovico
Joseph Francis Lodovico, 85, of Vineland, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on February 13, 2022. He fought his cancer diagnosis courageously for over two years, always keeping a positive attitude up until the very end.
He was born in Atlantic City in 1936 until moving to Vineland in 1945. He lived & worked on his families' farm until he met the love of his life, Gloria. He also worked at Kimble Glass for over 30 years. Joe & Gloria were married for 52 years before her passing in 2014. He is also predeceased by his parents John & Alice Lodovico; and his brothers John Lodovico & Charles Lodovico. He is survived by his children, Brian Lodovico and Alice Frangakis; son-in-law George Frangakis, and his three grandchildren, Nicholas, Marcus and Jaegar Frangakis. Joe is also survived by his brother & sister-in-law George & Jackie Lodovico of Vineland & sister-in-law Nan Lodovico of California.
Joe was known as a compassionate, kindhearted, gentle family man who loved to take care of others. He had a quiet sense of humor & loved to be around friends and family. Any animal that crossed his path, loved him. He enjoyed being out in his garden & was most famously known for his sweet potatoes. In his earlier years Joe loved hunting. Most of all Joe loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching their soccer games, playing with them when they were little & always giving them his best advice - "Don't do anything stupid"! He enjoyed multiple cruises with Gloria, watching Little Theater plays & just being around friends. He volunteered for many years on the Battleship NJ doing maintenance & made many close friends along the way. He will be sadly missed.
A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Vineland.
