Obituary of LeRoy R. Goldblatt

LeRoy R. Goldblatt, 87 of Vineland quietly passed away on February 5, 2022. Born in Bridgeton to the late "Izzy and Nan" Goldblatt of Port Norris, NJ. He attended Millville High School, Dickinson College and then entered the US Army serving in Korea as a Cryptographer. He started his career in sales upon his return from service. Mr. Goldblatt was Vice President/General Manager of Novick Chevrolet Affiliated leasing systems from 1976 to 1991. Making a career change in 1994 LeRoy began working for the state of New Jersey at the Department of Treasury as a Sr. Field Representative until 1997, when he began at the Cumberland County prosecutor's office as the Megan's Law coordinator, a position that he was very proud to hold. Serving the city of Vineland in numerous capacities LeRoy was chairman of the Zoning Board for 19 years; The Vineland Welfare Board for 8 years and he was the City Treasurer for two years. LeRoy was a past president of the Vineland Jaycees, a member of the Jewish War Veterans Post # 701 and a longtime member of the Diamond Social Club. Always involved in politics LeRoy was the treasure of the city of Vineland's Republican Party, serving as a legislative aide to Congressman Frank LoBiondo. Active in the 1968 presidential campaign of Richard Nixon he was invited to the inauguration and ball. Serving once more on the re-election campaign in 1992 of George H.W. Bush, LeRoy was integral in coordinating his historical visit to the city of Vineland on October 22, 1991. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie C. Goldblatt; his daughters, Marilyn Goldstein and Marlene Goldblatt-Smith (Lawrence Smith); granddaughter, Beth Goldstein and his grandson, Michael Goldstein. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Dr. Seymore Goldblatt. A funeral home visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9th from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Beth Abraham Cemetery, Rosenhayn. Everyone is required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
