Obituary of Benjamin F Pilla
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin F. Pilla, 81, of Vineland, who passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 after suffering respiratory failure.
Benjamin was born in Vineland on November 30, 1940 to the late Frank and Alvera Pilla. After graduating from Vineland High School in 1958, he worked for Colucci Lumber, and then went on to serve in the US Army in Vietnam.
Upon returning home from the war, he met and married Diane Dobson. The two were married in October of 1968 and together had three children, Frank, Dominick, and Jennifer.
As a young man "Benny" enjoyed making wine, camping, and riding motorcycles. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and owned several throughout his life. After retiring, he took up a new hobby, kayaking. He and Diane kayaked all around South Jersey.
He is survived by his wife Diane; son and daughter-in-law Frank and Diana; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Rich Martine II; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Vincent, Nicholas, Ava, and Dominick; his sisters Kathleen Kemenash and Chistina Corea, and countless nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Benjamin was predeceased by his son Sgt. Dominick Pilla who died in 1993 while serving as a Ranger in the US Army.
