Obituary of Joseph D Gentilini

Joseph David Gentilini, 85, of Landisville, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022 at home. Joseph was born in Landis Township on February 19, 1936 to Veronica (Selva) and Donato Gentilini. Joe joined the US Army and served between the years 1954 to 1960. Upon receiving his honorable discharge he became employed with Wheaton's Plastics in Mays Landing until his retirement, where he was a machine set-up operator. Joseph was married to his wife, Velda, for 30 years until her passing in 2000. Joseph was a very quiet and generous man. He was always kind-hearted to all his neighbors and strangers alike. He donated regularly to the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish and to many Zoo's in the entire region that he loved to visit often. Joe was a huge animal lover and he especially loved his three cats. When not contributing to charities, he also enjoyed traveling the states with his late wife in their travel-behind camping trailer. He was also frequently seen in his yard planting flowers and enjoying nature while surrounded by his plants. He is survived by his sister, Mary Mazza of Broomall, PA; his niece, Tina McGarrigle (Michael) of Broomall, PA; his great-nephews, Michael and Matthew McGarrigle of Broomall, PA; and his lifelong neighbor, friend and caretaker of 46 years, Bill Beattie of Landisville. He is predeceased by his wife, Velda, and parents, Veronica and Donato Gentilini. A graveside service and burial will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:45am at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
