Obituary of Corinne M. Baruffi

Corinne (Michael) Baruffi, 91, of Vineland, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022 at Spring Oak Assisted Living in Vineland. She was born in Vineland to the late Dominick and Clorinda Michael. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School Corinne worked for the Welfare board in Bridgeton and was employed for two years by Bell telephone. She married the love of her life Gino in 1951 and stayed home to raise their five children. Corinne always dreamed of attending college and while still raising her children began taking college courses at Glassboro State College in 1963. She interrupted her studies to accompany her husband at the University of Maryland where she helped him earn his doctorate in education. Upon returning to New Jersey, she resumed her course work at Glassboro. In 1973 she earned her BA degree with honors in elementary education. She then took a full time teaching position in Weymouth Township, started work on her master's degree and achieved her masters and certification as a reading specialist in 1977. One of her greatest joys was working with children and helping them learn to read. Her biggest pride and joy however were her five children; her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, daughters & sons in-law, Jean & Michael Terruso and Karen & Stanley Symanski; sons & daughters-in-law, Michael & Rebecca Baruffi, Thomas & Kathryn Baruffi and Paul & Donna Baruffi; sisters, Patricia Simmerman and Cathy Verderose (Alfred); brother & sister-in-law, John "Jack" & Marlene Michael; brother, Dom Michael; her 10 grandchildren, Melissa Gualtieri, Brian Symanski, Michelle Devine, Alex Symanski, Steven Baruffi, Chris Baruffi, Lauren Baruffi, Danielle Baruffi, Matthew Baruffi and Ryan Baruffi; and her seven great-grandchildren, Domenick Symanski, Benjamin Symanski, Gino Gualtieri, Carlina Gualtieri, Owen Symanski, Dylan Devine and Ethan Symanski. Along with her parents, Corinne was predeceased by her husband Gino Baruffi; grandson Michael Terruso Jr. and her sister Joan Cline. A church visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 9:45am to 11:45am followed by a funeral mass at 12 noon from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Everyone is asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
