Obituary of Kevin J Kirchner

Kevin Kirchner, 71, of Vineland, passed away on December 24, 2021 in Vineland, NJ. He will be missed by many of his family, friends, construction acquaintances and city hall workers who knew him well. Kevin loved his family first! His son, Kristian, helped him and succeeded at getting The Palace of Depression built and almost completed. They worked together on completing the Museum for the Palace along with Dr. DeMaio to display the history of the Palace. He was President of the Friends of Historic Vineland. He was in charge of Founders Day at the Palace each year. He spearheaded getting the Palace completed along with his son, Kristian, to bring the Palace back to its glory. He was quite an athlete in high school and junior high school. He loved baseball and loved watching the Eagles. He and Pat Newton ran a successful construction business in the 1970's. He then became the City Zoning officer, Construction Official and Director of License and Inspection until his retirement on April 30, 2012. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Maryann (Aragona) Kirchner in 1971. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in November of 2021. He loved his daughter, Megan, more than anything and built her house for her and her husband, Ernie Bernhardt. Most of all he took great pride in watching his grandson, Ernie, play baseball like he did and hit homeruns. His loving granddaughter Braxtyn, was the apple of his eye and loved watching her play soccer and talking to her always on Facetime. He will miss his littlest love, his toy Pomeranian dog and friend, Kali. Kevin gave so much of his time to giving and always helping others. He will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was survived by his wife MaryAnn (Aragona) Kirchner; son Kristian Kirchner; daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Ernie Bernhardt; grandchildren Braxtyn Bernhardt and Ernie Bernhardt; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Donna & David Fixler; and his dog Kali. Kevin was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Kathleen Kirchner. A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm followed by a funeral service at 6:00 pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
