Marcia and I were so very sorry to hear of Al's passing. I was born in Vineland and lived there until I was 10. My parents were close friends of Al & Lorraine for over 60 years. I remember playing with Gary when I was young and being warmly greeted by Al & Lorraine. I remember Al's TV shop and seeing TVs, disassembled, lots of tube in his shop and being given a tour of what he did. Al always was interested in us as little kids and liked visiting the house.
My parents moved to California in 1964 and they continued their friendship with Al & Lorraine until their passing. About 30 years ago, Al & Lorraine drove to North Carolina (where we now live) to see us and take my parents (who were visiting us) on a week long vacation to the mountains and beach. It was a great trip that they spoke about often.
Lorraine found a photo of them, my parents, and my wife from that trip and called me to reconnect just a few weeks ago to see how we were doing. That's when I found out about Al's health. She followed up the call with a letter that included the photo. Randi connected with me on Facebook, and that's how I found out about Al's passing. My wife and I have very fond memories of Al and we offer our condolences to Lorraine, Randi & Gary and their spouses and kids.

Gary and Randi and Families,
We were so sorry to read about your father's passing in the newspaper today. He truly was such a nice man. I remember him driving us back to University of Delaware after winter break and the roads were snow covered and he was using his CB radio to check with truck drivers about the road conditions going over the bridge. How wonderful that he and your mom shared 68 years of marriage. Thinking of all of you. Cheryl and Bill Calvert
