Obituary of Laura Rose Carrita

Laura Rose Carrita, 94, Millville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare where she was a resident. Laura was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Josephine (Tardi) Maggio and Antonio Maggio. She was married to Vincent M. Carrita for over 53 year before he passed in 2000. She was a resident of Vineland and worked as a cafeteria worker at Vineland High School for many years before becoming a nurse's aide, working at the Vineland Developmental Center. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing cards & the casinos. Laura cherished the time she shared with her family and friends. Laura is survived by her daughters, Johanna Carrita of Rensalear, NY, Laura Sonmez and husband Sahin of Wesley Chapel FL., Irene Musgrave of Vineland and Barbara Carroll and husband Stanley of Cape Coral, FL. Along with her 8 grandchildren, Thomas Vrana of Hilldale, NY, Mary Vrana and wife Tracy Bruno of Cicero, NY, Richard Vrana of Smithville Flats, Anne Marie Vrana of Bonita Springs, FL, Michael Vrana and wife Crystal of Schenectady NY, John Sonmez of St Petersburg, Tamara Sonmez of Orlando, FL & Michelle Sonmez of Tampa FL and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her husband Vincent M. Carrita; her son-in-law Walter Musgrave and siblings Benedict Maggio, Lucia Gilgin, Rose Mattae, Joseph Maggio, and Josephine Alexander. A church visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21st from 8:45am to 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of Saint Rose Of Lima, 104 Catawba Avenue, Newfield. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Newfield. Everyone is asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
