Obituary of Laura Ann Grasso

Laura Ann Grasso, 61, of Vineland, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 after an arduous, year-long battle with mantle cell lymphoma. Laura was born in Vineland on September 7, 1959 to the late Frank and Barbara (Cavagnaro) Grasso. She graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Newfield in 1976. After graduation, she worked at Garden State Florist in Vineland before taking a position as a ward clerk at Newcomb Hospital. She then followed a call to become a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany. In 1988, she began a 25-year career at Bank of America where she worked her way up from cashier to risk analyst before retiring in 2013 in Pompano Beach, Florida. In retirement, Laura enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors hiking and gardening, spending quality time with family and friends, and caring for her beloved pets. She will always be known for her sense of humor and quick wit. Laura was a jokester who always brought a smile to the faces of her friends and family, and we will always remember the sound of her laugh. She was predeceased by her parents Frank & Barbara Grasso; her grandparents Anne & George Cavagnaro and Augusta & Alfred Grasso; cousins Sue Grasso-Carione, and Joshua Cavagnaro. She is survived by her sister Michele Genovese; her brother Brian Grasso (Cheryl), and her beloved nieces and nephews Michael Genovese Jr. (Brianna), BethAnn D'Alessandro (Thomas), Jesse Genovese (Melanie), Brian Grasso, Nick Grasso (Rachel), Gianna Grasso, and great niece Ryleigh and great nephews Nathan and Thomas as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She will also be sorely missed by her close friends "The Allegany Girls." A church visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 10am to 11am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Burial will be private.
