Obituary of Lena Polizzi

Lena (Leonardo) Polizzi, 89, of Turnersville, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021. Lena was born in Vineland to the late Anthony and Theresa (Giannini) Leonardo. She and her husband John moved to Turnersville in 1965. She enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved the Phillies, holiday gatherings, baking, cooking and trips to the casinos in Atlantic City. She belonged to a breakfast club and always stayed in touch with her friends. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren and her feline baby Sunny. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Polizzi; sons, David Polizzi (Michele) and Richard Polizzi; two grandchildren, Justin and Gabrielle; sister-in-law, Elinor Leonardo; and many nieces & nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother & sister-in-law, Joseph and Annie Leonardo and her brother, Anthony Leonardo Jr. A funeral home visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. The funeral home requires everyone to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
