Obituary of David Ira Katz

David Ira Katz September 24, 1953 - August 6, 2021 (age 67) Beloved husband of Karen Katz (nee Kutscher); loving father of Rob Katz and Dan Katz; faithful brother to Martha Katz-Hyman, Judith Katz, and the late Jeannette Brinch; loving nephew of Wilma Stern; caring father-in-law of Clara Siegel and Veronica Katz; loving grandfather of Elan, Armand, Rosa, and Jeanne Louise. He is adored and remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He loved a good joke (preferably a series of puns) and always stood up for what is right. Born to the late Louis and Minna Katz in Port Chester, NY and raised primarily in Worcester, MA, David was a proud graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is also where he met his loving wife of 46 years, Karen. They lived in Seattle, Kansas City and on Long Island before settling in Newtown, Pennsylvania, where they lived from 1987 to 2017. In addition to his degree from MIT, David also earned a Master's Degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington and a MBA from La Salle University. He was an active member of the Jewish community, and a truly devoted friend, grandfather, and husband. Funeral services will be held at the Alliance Cemetery, 970 Gershal Ave, Norma, NJ 08347 on Wednesday, August 11th at 12 PM.
