Obituary of John Jay Battistini

John Battistini Jr. went home to be with his wife in Heaven on August 8, 2021. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones after a difficult and heartbreaking battle with Lewy Body dementia. John was a long-time, respected resident of Estell Manor. He married his best friend, soul mate and the love of his life, Lois, in 1961. They worked side by side for more than 50 years; John and Lois were truly inseparable. Together they built Battistini Foods, offering quality Italian foods to local families for many years. After their retirement from the pasta business, John and Lois built Granny's Kettle Korn into a successful business offering a treat that made people smile. They did everything together and were each other's hearts, hopes and dreams. They were the perfect example that true love really can exist. John was an amazingly strong, loyal, genuine and honest man. He was independent and incredibly hard working. He was devoted to his wife and family and dedicated his entire life to providing for them. John loved working with his hands and could fix absolutely anything. He enjoyed being active and keeping busy. He was an avid bird hunter and loved spending time with his beloved Brittany Spaniels. John was the Chairman of the SJ Chapter of Quail Unlimited and a member of the Estell Manor gunning club. He also enjoyed taking hunting trips with his friends, cooking, traveling, and dancing with his lovely wife. John proudly served in the National Guards where he built lasting friendships. He served on the Estell Manor City Council and was the Mayor for many years. He was a long-time member of the Estell Manor Republican club and remained politically active even after his retirement. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and confidant. He was a constant role model and support system to his friends and family, and will forever be missed but will never be forgotten. He is survived by his two daughters Brenda Starn and Karen Mesler (Marvin), two granddaughters, Danielle Starn and Brandi Teti (John) and three great grandchildren who he absolutely adored, John Teti, Jacqueline Teti and Emma Teti. The funeral home requires that everyone wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
