Obituary of Joseph Martin Sweeney

Joseph Martin Sweeney, 96, passed away on June 22, 2021, at the Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, New Jersey. Joe "Chuck" was born in Avoca, Pennsylvania, in 1925 to the late Martin and Margaret Castner Sweeney. He was a graduate of Avoca High School. Joe served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was employed by Pope and Talbot for 30 years until his retirement. Besides his beloved wife, Helen, of 62 years, Joe is survived by his daughter and son in law, Donna and Thomas Ravin of Watertown, Connecticut; daughter and son in law, Jacqualyn and Joseph Fanelle of Glassboro, New Jersey; grandchildren, Brian and Caitlin Ravin Lasky, Zachary Fanelle, Mark and Christa Fanelle Massak and Olivia Ravin. Joe was a quiet, loving person and will be sadly missed. Private services will be held by the family.
