Obituary of Emma Barbetti

Emma M. (Valente) Barbetti, 92, passed away Monday, October 13, 2008, in Bishop McCarthy Residence. Born in Vineland to the late Frank and Mary (Calareso) Valente, she was a life long resident. She attended Vineland public schools and as a young girl still in school she helped her parents on the family farm. Emma was a seamstress for Rosenthal Clothing Company in Vineland. She then worked as a counter person for Dino Montagna's "The Spot" a well known local sweet shop on Landis Avenue. Emma also managed Geraci's Market for many years. After her husband "Brownie" , a patrolman for the Vineland Police Department, passed away in 1965, she helped raise her grandchildren. Emma was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Vineland Senior Center. She enjoyed bus trips to the casinos, dinner theaters, and especially cooking her special Italian meals for her family and friends.
