Obituary of Robert D. Roberts
Robert D. Roberts, 96, of Minotola, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Robert was born to the late Freeman and Edna (Lutton) Inskeep in Sharpsville, PA, grew up in Youngstown, OH and later moved to Landisville, NJ in the early 50's. There he met his wife Camella Drogo and were married for 53 years.
At a young age he worked on a farm and later served in US Airforce as an aircraft mechanic. After his service, he enjoyed working many years as a truck driver for Armellini Express Lines in Vineland, NJ and then as an owner operator with his own truck.
He was a long-time dedicated volunteer member of the Landisville Fire Department. He was so proud to be a part of a group of fellow members who loved serving the community as much as he did. He was a generous man who could make friends and leave an impression wherever he went. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He loved cooking, having a glass of homemade wine or two with his son, listening to his favorite music, working in his flower garden and watching the Phillies. He always loved getting together with his daughter and her family & friends for a dinner or his son's and his family for a barbeque, but his most favorite pastime was fishing with his grandson.
Every year you can always guarantee that he spent his winters in Florida and looked forward to coming back in the spring & summer to help at Muzzarelli Farms. Their family was very special to him and he loved spending time with the entire Muzzarelli family.
Robert is survived by his loving daughter Sharon Bassetti (Joe III); his son Allen (Cheryl); four grandchildren Joe IV Bassetti, Brittny Bassetti, Lauren Levari and Kelly Quintana (Jaime); and seven great grandchildren Jayden Roberts, Jonathan Diaz, Giana Levari, Jaime Quintana Jr., Madelyn Levari, Jailynn Quintana and Adalyn Bassetti. His greatest pride and joy was his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Camella, his brothers Charles, Glen, Harry and sisters Marlene & Barbara.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone must wear a mask and social distance.
