Obituary of Barbara Frances Gana

Barbara F. (Scarpa) Gana, 87, passed away on March 29, 2021. A lifelong resident of Vineland, Barbara was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1951. She received her teaching degree at Glassboro State College and taught kindergarten for 42 years in the Vineland Public School system. She was an accomplished seamstress, traveled to Europe, enjoyed challenging crossword puzzles, crocheting and was a fan of Hallmark movies. She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish and of St. Barbara R.C. Chapel of Vineland, which was founded by her great grandfather and great uncle. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Thelma Bucikowski and Carole D'Amato of Vineland and her beloved nieces and nephews: Gary Gorgo, Larry Gorgo, Marianne (Bucikowski)Bagliani, Walter Bucikowski, Janet(Gorgo) Vorndran, Susan Bucikowski, Cheryl Bucikowski, Christine (D'Amato) Salerni and Janeen (D'Amato) Cruz and her many great-nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Francis A. Gana and her parents Frank J. and Irma (Bloomingdale) Scarpa. Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone must wear a mask and social distance. A church visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9am to 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Sacred Heart, 1010 East Landis Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
