Obituary of Joseph Piccione

Joseph Piccione, 89, passed away on February 10, 2021, one week before his 90th birthday. Joe was born in Vineland, NJ to the late Peter and Rose (Rosati) Piccione on February 17, 1931. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1949. He served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955. He went on to work as a plumber in the family business, and then successfully established and operated Cumberland Motors for a number of years. After that he joined the Plumbers/Pipe Fitters Union Local 322 and worked until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an excellent cook and a great storyteller. He was also an avid car enthusiast with a talent for restoring classic cars. Joe is survived by his wife Dolores (Bruge) of 64 years; along with son Joe (Tara) and daughter Beth Manzi (John). He adored his loving granddaughters: Rebecca and Rachel Piccione, and Natalie and Nina Manzi. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Grace Raffaelli (Peter) and Maria Porreca (Paul) as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Maria Bruge. Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone must wear a mask and social distance. A church visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral mass at 11am from Divine Mercy Parish, 23 West Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
