Obituary of Barbara Grasso

Barbara Ann Grasso (Cavagnaro), 68, of Buena breathed her last breath December 18, 2008 surrounded by the warmth of her loving family, after a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Frank, Barbara was known for her kind heart and family oriented life. She was the fourth of 9 children. Barbara devoted her life to the Catholic faith and was known by many children from the Saint Michael & Our Lady of Victories parishes for teaching Religious Education classes. Her devotion to the Catholic Church also involved serving as a Eucharistic Minister and lector. She was a member of the Secular Augustinians. Barbara was a family person, enjoying every Easter and Christmas with her homemade breads and pastas that were loved by all her family. She was known as the lady behind the flowers at her family owned business Garden State Florist in Vineland where she worked many years as a bookkeeper following the footsteps of her Aunt Erma. She is survived by her daughters Laura Grasso of Fort Lauderdale Fl., Michele Genovese of Minotola, and one son Brian Grasso and his wife Cheryl (Lorito) of Buena. Barbara has 6 grandchildren: Michael, BethAnn, Jesse, Brian, Nicholas, and Gianna. She is also survived by her mother, Ann Cavagnaro of Vineland &. Her brothers George (Sonny) of The Villages, FL, Larry & Dave of Vineland, Rev. Mark Cavagnaro of Saint Agnus Church, Blackwood and Rev. John Cavagnaro of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Collings Lakes, and two sisters, Janette Kille of Charleston, SC and Therese of Cedar Key, FL. Barbara is predeceased by her husband Frank, father George, brother Nicholas, and nephew Joshua Contributions can be made to Barbara's grand daughter Gianna Grasso who was born with disabilities. A trust fund will be set up at Bank of America.
