Obituary of Joseph Basolis

Joseph Elbert Basolis, 60 of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Vineland, NJ, passed away on February 3, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Elbert "Bert" and Mary (Abruscato) Basolis. Joe resided in Vineland most of his life and was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 1978. Joe worked as a Senior Project Manager and founded multiple businesses in the environmental cleanup industry. He also worked for Garrison Enterprise, becoming partner and retiring in 2014. Joe had a great love of the sea. He was proud to have his Master Captains License, eventually starting a business running charters from his family's summer home in Avalon, NJ. He enjoyed scuba diving and fishing in the Florida Keys, as well as golf - he was excited to move to North Myrtle Beach and live the "golf life". Joe was a true foodie that loved sharing great new restaurants with everyone. But above all, Joe loved just "chilling out" with family and friends. His adventurous spirit and generous heart will be missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife Valerie (Albano); daughter Angela Basolis (Eddie); sisters, Cynthia Basolis-Koons (Velton), and Debra Basolis-Scavelli (Frank), and his brother Elbert (Staci). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone is required to wear a mask and social distance. A church visitation will be held on Thursday from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 pm from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
