Obituary of Marlene Castelli

Marlene Ann Castelli, 77, of Malaga, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 26, 2021. Marlene was born in Vineland and was a lifelong resident of Malaga where she grew up on the family farm and became part owner of Castelli Farms and a member of the Vineland Produce Auction. She graduated from Delsea Regional High School and went on to get her associates degree in accounting. She worked as a bookkeeper for Venice Maid Foods, Cresci Motors and Marandino Construction. Marlene's hobbies, such as needlepointing, quilting, crafting, decorating for the holidays, reading and learning about history and watching TV (especially Westerns) continued into her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Malaga where she ran the annual Feast of the Assumption bake sale and was secretary of the event. She worked with the Loving Lambs knitting hats and scarves for donation and for a time ran the church Christmas Bazaar. Marlene loved to brag about her nieces and nephews and looked forward to lunches and 4:00 coffee breaks overlooking the Castelli Vineyard from Aunt Carmella's porch. She is still trying to learn to whistle. She is survived by her brother, James Castelli (Kathleen); nephew, James Castelli (Dawn); niece, Kathleen Speranza (Charles); Colleen J. Worley (Brian); great nieces and nephews, Vincenzo and Gianina Speranza and Brian and Melina Worley; as well as many cousins. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Michael J Castelli & Mary L. (Bosco) Castelli and her brother, Michael A Castelli. Due to COVID-19 restrictions everyone must wear a mask and social distance. A funeral home visitation will be held on Monday from 9am to 10:30am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
