Obituary of Daniel J Gonsalves

Daniel J. Gonsalves, 90, of Vineland, was called to Heaven to be with God and our Lord on January 11, 2021, after a brief illness at the Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Daniel was born May 22, 1930 in Woburn Massachusetts, the youngest son of the late Joaquim and Matilda Gonsalves (Jardine). Daniel honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his military service, he was a Buena Borough Police Officer for several years. After moving to Vineland he chose a career as a skilled technician at Wheaton Industries in Millville. During semi-retirement he used his skills as a service technician for Sears in Vineland. He was married to the love of his life, Madeline, for 67 years. Daniel was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, making ceramics and doing auto repair. He was so mechanically inclined he could fix anything, especially with sandpaper . . . Daniel is survived by his wife, Madeline (Provenzano); daughter, Donna Sammartino; son, Kenneth Daniel Gonsalves (Ivy); grandchildren, Sheree Bertonazzi (John), Raymond Sammartino, and Gianna & Ashley Gonsalves; sister, Dorothy Mourey (Bill) of Massachusetts; and brother-in-law Pete Provenzano; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Jardine (Annabelle); and sister, Alice Davis (Fred). Due to Covid-19 a funeral and burial, with military honors, was held privately.
