I met Joe at the St Pio Festival in 2014 which at that time was run by a great priest Father Peter.Cindy Russo had St Pio's Chalice that year and Joe was letting people put their Rosary Beads in the water Cindy had brought back from the Trivi Fountain in Italy when she first met St Pio in a church by the fountain after his death and he hasn't let go of her since.St Pio uses Cindy to expand his story and prayer groups .
Joe and I became good friends and we kept in touch thru the years.
On February 14th 2015 Cindy helped me start our St Pio Prayer Group at St Mary's Barnegat.Joe came up to St Mary's with Cindy to give a talk on St Pio and he brought his books to the church to sell and told us to keep the profit for our group.AT that time Eubie'swife who still is a member of ST Mary's came to the talk and we all along with a few members of St Mary's went to dinner.
Joe and I would talk on phone all the time and since we were both named Joe we talked for hours.
Joe loved to talk about his 4 sons and family whom he loved dearly.
Joe will be missed but he is probably in Heaven now talking with ST Pio
