I worked in the kitchen at Appel Farm summer 1978, as a Brit student on summer vacation work. It was a formative time for me and although at the time Albert (and Clare) seemed unusual employers, with the benefit of hindsight I can see all the traits and virtues set out in Albert's obituary. The news of Albert's passing reached me via a local co-worker from 1978 with whom I remain in contact. RIP. Martyn D.

I had the privilege of working with Albert as a volunteer with Business Volunteers for the Arts. As a fellow graduate of Central H S and a lover of classical music, we shared many wonderful experiences. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and those who shared the privilege of knowing Albert.

Who knew that living in a converted chicken coop could be so much fun! Having a camp counselor from France. Watching Bookspan diving in the pool. Helping make a harpsichord. This camp had a lifelong impact on my life. The weekly concerts and skits. Thank you Al, for your incredible vision! My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
