Obituary of Faustina Rone Geraci

Rone Funeral Service 856.691.4222 New Obit with photo for Saturday Faustina Rone Geraci, 92, of Vineland, Stone Harbor, Hallandale Beach, and Palm Beach, FL and the Owner/Manager of Rone Funeral Service, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Cape Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Tina was born and raised in Vineland, to the late C. Calvin and Mary (Bovenzi) Rone. She graduated from Vineland High School in 1938 and graduated Eckels School of Mortuary Science. Faustina was one of the first women Funeral Directors in the State of New Jersey, and actively maintained her license. At the age of 23 Faustina took the helm of Rone Funeral Service with her father C. Calvin Rone, who was severely burned in a boating accident. As a young girl, she ran the business to support her family until her father was once again able to work by her side. During this time, she assumed the title of manager and for the next 62 worked with her father; C. Calvin "Doc" Rone; brother; C. Victor Rone, husband; James A. Geraci and later her son James C. Geraci. Faustina was extremely honored to serve and comfort the many families of the Vineland, Landisville, Minotola, Newfield and Rosenhayn and the surrounding areas. She made this her life vocation. Faustina was a member of many professional organizations including NFDA, NJFDA, WDFDA as well as many local organizations in the Vineland area. She enjoyed traveling throughout her life, here and abroad. She traveled first with her parents to many countries in Europe, then with her sister Gladys to the Middle East and in her later years, traveled with her daughter Jana to Florence her favorite city in Italy. She loved watching football and cheering on her favorite team, the Washington Redskins. She knew every player in the NFL. She loved the NY Yankees. She was addicted to Saturday Night Live and the Fox News Channel, often debating political issues along with her favorite Bill O'Reilly. Her day was not complete until she read the New York Post from cover to cover. She adored her family and was very proud of their accomplishments. She loved living life to the fullest. She is survived by her adoring children, son, James C. Geraci of Vineland; daughter and son-in-law, Jana & John Scarpa of Palm Beach, FL; loving caregiver, Tina Aguilar; long time friend, Jeffrey R. Shaw of Vineland; nephew & wife, Carmen & Karen Rone of Margate; niece & husband, Renee (Rone) & Murray Milner, Havertown, PA; niece, Lori Rone-McLaughlin of Vineland; nephew & wife, Calvin & Cindy Rone of Gloucester City; niece, Tina Nugent Esq. of Medford Lakes; nephew & wife, William P. & Tracey Nugent Esq. of Haddonfield; nephew & wife, Dr. Thomas & Sherrie Nugent of Haddonfield; many great-nieces & nephews and her staff at Rone's, Nicholas Chamenko, Michael R. DeStefano, Doug Lee, Moe Torres and Chicky Tamagni. Tina was predeceased in 2007 by her husband, James A. Geraci; parents, C. Calvin "Doc" and Mary (Bovenzi) Rone sister, Lucille Rone; sister and husband, Gladys Rone & Charles Nugent Sr; and her brother & sister-in-law, C. Victor & Sara (Scarpa) Rone. Funeral Home visitations will be held on Sunday evening from 5pm to 7pm and again, Monday morning from 9:30am to 11am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, N.J. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 12pm from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish Church of Sacred Heart, 1010 East Landis Avenue, Vineland.
