Obituary of Lorraine Ruth Eisenstat

Lorraine Ruth (Mozer) Eisenstat, born to Russian immigrant parents Rose and Max on June 23' 1938 in Denver ,Colorado passed away on July 20, 2011 at the Penn Wissahickon Hospice in Philadelphia in the comfort of her husband of almost 53 years Jere, her children, grandchildren, her sister in law Roseann Mozer and care provider and friend Denise Deckerd. Lorraine attended the University of Miami Coral Gables where she studied education until marrying Gerald (Jere) Eisenstat, also a Denver native, in August of 1958. The couple resided in Carlisle PA, Newark,NJ, Bridgeton,NJ and settled in Vineland in 1961. A community leader through Beth Israel Congregation, Lorraine supported Benevolent, Hadassah, BIC Sisterhood and the Cumberland County College School Counts Fund-raising Committee. She chaired numerous fund-raising efforts throughout Vineland. Lorraine's cornerstones in life were her family, faith and assisting those in her community in need. She enjoyed global travel with her husband, her time spent during the summer months in Stone Harbor, NJ, teaching cooking classes and relishing moments with her friends and family. Funeral services will be held at Beth Israel on Thursday, July 21 at 4 pm and internment will be at Alliance Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will be receiving guests at Beth Israel after internment and at the Eisenstat home on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings at sunset. Lorraine is survived by her husband Jere, son Noel Eisenstat, daughter Lynda Eisenstat-Dorf, daughter-in-law Beth Rosenbaum, son-in-law Mitchel Dorf, grandchildren Aaron Eisenstat, Ben Eisenstat, Sadie Dorf and Max Dorf, and her brother Lou Mozer. She was preceded in death by her brothers Dr. Philip Mozer and Sydney Mozer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beth Israel Congregation, Temple Beth Hillel-Beth Abraham and to the Penn Wissahickon Hospice.
