Obituary of Leonard L. "Jack" Armato

Leonard L. "Jack" Armato, 90 of Vineland died Tuesday May 6, 2008 in SJRH Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Richland to the late Filippo and Giovannini (Savona) Armato where he ramained a long time resident before moving to Vineland. A master carpenter by trade, Jack activle in work for many years after retirement age. He served in the US Army during WW II holding the rank of sergeant in the 117 th infantry. Jack received the Bronze Star Medal GO 120 HQ30 3rd Inf 12 Dec 44, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Distinguist Service Medal. A member of the VFW post # 158 in Landisville where he served as first commander, and a volenteer fireman for the Richland Volenteer Fire Company. A past member of the Vineland North Italy Club, Jack enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends and arguing politics.
