Obituary of Lucia Danna

Lucy Danna, 92, formerly of Vineland, passed away Wednesday, December 14th at Absecon Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Umberto and Gertrude (Gelsi), and her husband of 41 years, John Danna. Lucy was born and raised in Vineland, NJ She attended Sacred Heart School. In 1940 she and John married, continuing to live and work in Vineland, while raising their two daughters. Home, family, and friends were the primary focus of her life. She enjoyed card playing with her close friends and participated in several groups. For 23 years Lucy was employed by the Vineland Public Schools in the food service department. She retired in 1983, but will be fondly remembered as "the sandwich lady" at Vineland High School. Lucy's greatest joy was sharing her love with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devote Catholic, reciting the Rosary daily. Lucy will be remembered for her feisty spirit, devotion to her family and friends and her fantastic Zuccarini cookies. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Danna Chapman, Oakland, CA; daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Theodore Peters, Mays Landing, NJ; granddaughter & husband, Tressa & Mel Reid, Egg Harbor City, NJ; granddaughter, Jennifer Chapman, San Francisco; granddaughter & husband, Lauren & David Sherma, Buena, NJ; grandson & wife, Theodore & Allison Peters, Buena, NJ; granddaughter, Christina Peters, Buena, NJ; great-grandsons, Jason & Nicholas Holmes; great granddaughter, Francesca Sherma; great grandsons, Austin & Collin Reid; Nieces, Nephews & Cousins; sister-in-law, Josephine Danna, Rosenhayn, NJ; sister-in-law, , Vineland, NJ; A Church Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9am to 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
