Obituary of Nettie Rambone-Benner

Nettie Kathryn Rambone-Benner, 88, passed away at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland on November 18, 2019 surrounded by loving family. Nettie was born July 4, 1931 in Vineland, NJ to the late Murray Rambone and Katherine (Lillie). She attended Clayton High School. Nettie was proudly employed by JJ Newberry Company. She particularly loved her work at the Candy Counter, which helped her develop a keen sweet tooth. She also worked at J and I Industries and Sands Atlantic City. She was a generous, giving, and nurturing woman who devoted herself to her family and friends. Nettie relished and exemplified her role as the Italian Matriarch. She was a firm but loving woman who was a talented cook, gardener, and caregiver. While enduring the heartbreak of losing three children, Nettie continued with sheer grit and determination to provide comfort and protectorship to those she loved. Her family always came first. It is a trait that is evident in those who survive her. Her greatest work accomplishment was being a homemaker and mother. She often said she loved her children and welcomed the thought of bearing more. After she lost her daughter, she was given the gift of helping raise two of grandchildren, Katherine and Vincent. Nettie cooked large meals for her family and friends daily. Her gravy was in fact, the best. She is survived by husband Larry Benner of Vineland; son Jack Smith, Jr. (Sandy) of Buena; daughter Judy Smith Piccione (Esther) of Lake Gilman, Elk Twp.; granddaughters Katherine Crespo (Moises) of Vineland, and Jennifer Smith of Buena; grandsons Vincent Smith of Vineland and Jack Smith III, of Buena, and great-grandson Antonio Crespo. Nettie was predeceased by her parents Murray and Katherine, first husband Jack Smith, Sr., daughter Nancy Smith, and sons Murray Smith, and Anthony Smith.
