Obituary of Dorothy A. Cugino

Dorothy Cugino, of Landisville passed away on May 20, 2012 at Genesis in Millville. She was born in Union City on February 18, 1917, but grew up in Seacaucus and Barnegat, New Jersey. After high school Dot went to work at Leggett's Canning Factory in landisville, assisting the chemist in the food testing lab; it was there that she met Michael Cugino. In February of 1939 they married and resided in Landisville. They enjoyed watching movies, watching the Phillies, spending time with family, attending gatherings vacationing at the boardwalk in Atlantic City, the casinos and going out to dinner. In 1957 Dorothy took a position as a cook for the Buena Regional School District until she retired in 1982. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, word puzzles and playing slot machines. She loved to travel, having visited Bermuda, Florida, New England, Nantucket, Las Vegas, Disney World, Nova Scotia and St. Michael's. Dorothy was best known for cooking all things Italian and Christmas Eve Fish Feast. Her family describes her as a" loving, caring, beautiful lady" and a "wonderful wife, mother and grandmother."
